SDCRID Scholarships/Stipends

SDCRID offers scholarships awarding compensation on a reimbursement basis
for the generalist knowledge exam or the performance exam (ongoing)
Requirements FOR PERFORMANCE EXAM SCHOLARSHIP (5 scholarships - up to half reimbursed):
Requirements FOR BLACK INDIGENOUS PEOPLE of COLOR (BIPOC) GENERALIST KNOWLEDGE EXAM SCHOLARSHIP (5 scholarships):
**If you receive a scholarship for the exam or assessment and want to retake either (for whatever reason), you may not receive further scholarships from SDCRID. If you did not receive a scholarship from SDCRID and took the exam, you are eligible for a scholarship for the retake.
SDCRID provides stipends to diversify and support the growth of our local interpreting pool (ongoing)
Requirements for SECOND YEAR BLACK INDIGENOUS PEOPLE of COLOR (BIPOC) STUDENT STIPEND (5 stipends; $150 each):
Confirm that stipends are still available.
Be an SDCRID member in good standing.
Must be the first time requesting a stipend or scholarship from SDCRID.
A verification letter from the faculty of the program in which you are enrolled as a 2nd year student.
Requirements for BLACK INDIGENOUS PEOPLE of COLOR (BIPOC) GAP INTERPRETER STIPEND (5 stipends; $150 each):
We define gap interpreters as those who are no longer students and not yet certified. These stipends are for professional development expenses en route to becoming certified. Gap interpreters includes those following non-traditional pathways to becoming certified (including Deaf interpreters and heritage signers).
Confirm that stipends are still available.
Be an SDCRID member in good standing.
